It’s hard to believe I have been posting for so long without the obligatory - we are sick and in hell post! Well my friends, it has happened and it was gastro! I went down with a thud last week, sweats, chills, lying on the floor next to the toilet - the whole box and dice. Might I add that it is very difficult to look after a 1 year old and a 3 year old from that position!
Little Bro could crawl faster than me - I had to to rely on Big Sis to keep him from self destructing while I sent out an SOS. Fortunately our wonderful babysitter came to my rescue and stepped into my shoes as I crawled around upstairs between the bedroom and the bathroom for the rest of the day. I’d pass Big Sis’ face gazing up the stairs saying things like “Oh, poor mummy has the vomit again!”.
The best part was that it only lasted one day and the next day I woke with that bright eyed clammy feeling of coming out of a fever - feeling so happy to be alive! It also reminded me of how, even though some days I don’t feel like I do much, I am actually key personnel around here! I also thought a lot about that financial adviser who recommended that we arrange trauma insurance for me - such a good idea, but I’m sure I wont think of it again until next time!
