You know, I have another recollection of wearing boots during childbirth. At the arrival of Big Sis, which can be described in an understated way as "bumpy", I remember that the obstetrician decided that the situation called for him to upgrade his attire. The key modification was him trading his cloth over-shoes to a pair of pristine white gumboots (or "Wellingtons" depending on your own turn of phrase). My initial thought, before the high drama of the clavical breaking birth, was 'cool, I'd like a pair'. I hadn't applied myself sufficiently to thinking about what was coming (but, in hindsight, how could you?). What I learned was that he had them on for a reason and I now see that I'll never have the right occasion to wear a pair of white wellies!

The cowboy boots, on another hand, are eminently suitable for popping out the third!

Giving birth in the boots - that hadn't occurred to me, but what a great idea! Normally I just have my toenails painted red so the new bub is greeted by a well groomed foot, but the boots...that's got me thinking.

Were they custom made by a little wizened man smoking a cheroot? Although if he were smoking, he couldn't hold the nails in his mouth, which is what I always imagine. Those boots rock, and personally, I believe you're cooler than Angelina, with or without them.

That's pretty cool. They are really nice. I would totally give birth in them if I had some. xD

Do you plan to give birth wearing them? I kinda like that idea and would be tempted to do it. You've heard the phrase "he died with his boots on"? You could tell the kid "I brought you into this world with my boots on." It has a nice ring and certainly sends a message! :-)

You go go girl! I totally agree, I one for not dressing dowdy while pregnant. I bought myself some really nice maternity sweaters the last go around, one of them was a boucle' sweater that was almost hot pink, but with flecks of every color imaginable. Believe it or not , I probably wouldn't wear that otherwise but I felt confident while I was pregnant, and enjoyed the color a lot.
